Travis Hutson
Travis Hutson is seeking re-election to Florida Senate District 7, which includes Flagler, St. Johns Counties and part of Volusia County.
Travis has served in the Florida Senate since 2015 and prior to that, he served as the State Representative for Florida House District 24, where he served Flagler and parts of St. Johns and Volusia Counties upon his election in 2012.
While serving in the Florida Legislature, Travis championed crucial legislation for District 7 and the state, focusing on the economy, education and public safety. He helped craft enhancements to Florida’s Career and Professional Education Act, responding to Florida’s critical workforce needs. Travis closed loopholes in the release of sexual violent predators making Northeast Florida’s most vulnerable citizens safer. In addition, Travis fought for improved water quality in Florida, as he successfully championed water policy reform and hurricane recovery.
Travis works in his family’s business, assisting in property and agricultural management and local charitable foundations. He also sat on the board of directors for HandsOn Jacksonville and on the development committee for St. Augustine Youth Services and has been a member of the board of directors for EPIC in St. Johns County.
Travis graduated from Lafayette College in Pennsylvania in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business. He resides in St Johns with his wife, Tanya, and their children, Taylor, Tyler and Turner.
