CFO Jimmy Patronis Applauds Florida Legislature for Embracing Technology and Innovation with Passage of FinTech Bill

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis issued a statement as FinTech legislation (House Bill 1391) has passed both chambers and is now headed to the Governor. The legislation, among other items, creates a Financial Technology sandbox within the Office of Financial Regulation for facilitating technological innovation.

CFO Jimmy Patronis said, “I applaud the Florida Legislature today as the FinTech legislation has now passed both chambers and is headed to Governor DeSantis. As someone who’s run a small business, I know just how beneficial it is to our communities to attract high paying, technology-focused jobs. FinTech’s opportunities for Florida are limitless and the more we can do to create a regulatory environment that allows businesses to innovate and test new technologies, the more effective we’ll be at attracting technology jobs and investment to Florida communities.
“Thank you to bill sponsors, Representative Jamie Grant and Senator Travis Hutson, for their hard work and support of this meaningful legislation.”
